How to set Family Goals for the New Year

Have you set your family goals for the New Year? Here are 3 strategies to assist you.

Your family is your greatest ministry.

If you don’t know how to have healthy family dynamics, you may find it hard to have other areas of success in your life.

Here are a few ways to set goals as a family next year.

Have family meetings. Family dynamics run in many ways like a business. Can you imagine how messy businesses would be if they did not have meetings? People would be doing whatever they wanted to do, compensation would be poor, and lots of conflicts would arise. The same thing happens in our families when we don’t have consistent time to meet together. We have to get on the same page to know what our family goals and expectations are in order to work together. Having family meetings are a great way to do this.

Have a family game night. This does not have to be expensive. You can schedule to watch a movie together on Netflix, or play a game of Monopoly. Basically, anything that you can do together that causes you to have fun can be considered a game night. It gives you something to look forward to during the week, in a way to connect with one another.

Pray and/or meditate together. I’ve heard this before and I’m sure you have to: “A family that prays together, stays together.” Whether you pray to a Christian God, Buddhist Monk, Muslim Allah, or meditation sounds, doing so with the ones that you love invites them into your your most sacred and intimate places. When this occurs, you undoubtedly will grow as a family.

It’s very hard to manage a family, but setting family goals together makes it easier. Here are a few tips that should assist you and help you to find a closer cohesiveness with your loved ones.
